Contabo Wrapped 2025: The Year of “Always Improving”

What a year! 2025 pushed us harder than ever, taught us some valuable lessons, and delivered results that made it all worth it. The year brought a lot of growth – not only in our numbers, but more importantly, in how we serve our customers. We rebuilt how we work, upgraded what we offer, and transformed how we support you. 

You were there through every change. Building your projects on our infrastructure, testing new features, telling us what worked and what didn’t. Your feedback shaped everything from our new Customer Control Panel to new products. This year proved that “Always Improving” is more than a slogan – it’s a mindset that happens when you combine honest, reliable hosting and a commitment to listening to your customers.

Customer Experience Becomes Everyone’s Job 

At the beginning of this year, your experience as Contabo customers left a lot to be desired. Long wait times led to frustration with support. When you told us this was your number one problem with Contabo, we listened. Our mission for 2025 was simple: fix it. 

It wasn’t easy, but it was successful. All our departments came together to identify problems and collaborate on actionable solutions. Now, after a year of listening to your concerns and working hard to address them, we can say with confidence that we offer true 24/7 support with well-trained agents at all hours. This means quality over speed – focusing on first-contact resolution instead of tickets closed per hour. 

We’re particularly proud of the fact that our Trustpilot score increased from 3.5 to 4.4 this year. That’s a direct result of the improvements we’ve made by reaching out to our customers, listening to your feedback, fixing actual problems, and turning critics into champions. 2025 collected over 1,000 positive reviews, over 200% more than in 2024. We aim to improve even more in the coming year. 

Products That Got Better 

Our product offerings have evolved this year as we’ve listened to what you really want from your hosting. 

1-Click Apps: Self-Hosting Without the Setup Pain 

We launched our free 1-click installation for n8n, Nextcloud, WireGuard, and GitLab CE this year in response to overwhelming demand for more Add-On options. Just pick your tool during VPS or VDS provisioning – we handle installation, configuration, security defaults, and SSL certificates. Under 30 minutes from order to working deployment. 

This introduction wasn’t just about jumping on the self-hosting trend – we’ve been winning at this game for years. We really wanted to offer modern solutions that remove the friction that kills these projects before they start. Dependency hell, configuration syntax errors, certificate troubleshooting – all gone. You get straight to building workflows, storing files, running your own VPN, or hosting your own DevOps platform. 

The response validated our approach: thousands of deployments in the first month alone, with positive feedback showing these tools running in production for agencies, dev teams, and privacy-conscious businesses around the world. Watch this space for more 1-click apps coming in 2026! 

VPS Lineup: More Power, Better Prices 

We completely rebuilt our VPS offerings this year. Not tweaked – rebuilt. Every plan got a new optimized configuration of vCPU cores, RAM, and storage to offer the best possible balance of price and performance. For under 8 bucks a month, our Cloud VPS 20 delivers 6 vCPUs, 12 GB RAM, and 100 GB NVMe storage. Cloud VPS 10 now boasts 4 vCPU cores. All with unlimited traffic and no setup fees. Try finding that kind of value elsewhere. 

The revamp happened because you told us what mattered: predictable performance, straightforward pricing, no surprises. Storage VPS configurations for data-intensive projects. Optimized setups for crypto nodes. Plans that handle trading platforms without choking during market volatility. No matter which option you choose, you can be sure that you’re getting the best value for your money on the market. 

Dedicated Servers: Turin Changes the Game 

AMD EPYC Turin processors landed in our Dedicated Server lineup in 2025. These CPUs deliver 17% better instructions per clock compared to previous generation Genoa chips. More importantly, they handle AI inference, database hosting, and compute-intensive workloads that would have required multiple servers previously. 

We simplified the entire Dedicated Server portfolio this year too, with IPMI access and unlimited traffic included as standard. Like our VPS plans, each carefully tailored option provides maximum value at every price point. 

Auto Backup: Protection That Doesn’t Break Your Budget 

Launched in February, Auto Backup solved a problem many of you had been requesting for years: automated, off-server backups that don’t cost enterprise prices. 

Daily incremental backups. Ten-day retention. Two-click restoration. Off-server storage that survives even if your VPS doesn’t. All starting at less than the price of coffee per month. 

The real win for us was seeing the peace of mind Auto Backup brings our customers. Set it up once, forget about it, and rest easy knowing your data survives accidental deletions, failed updates, or security incidents. 

Hub Europe: Where Everything Comes Together 

Hub Europe became the backbone of our European operations this year. Building 1 went live early in 2025, and we immediately started migrating instances from Nuremberg to this state-of-the-art facility. By now, most of our European customers are running on Hub Europe infrastructure. 

The numbers tell part of the story: 25,600 square meters covering four football pitches. Designed capacity for 50,000 servers. Complete N+1 redundancy. A direct-free-cooling system that works with nature instead of fighting it. PUE of 1.168, making it one of Europe’s most energy-efficient data centers. But the real story is what that efficiency means for you: more reliable service, better redundancy, predictable pricing even as energy costs climb elsewhere. 

The team running Hub Europe brings over 20 years of data center experience, working together for more than a decade. This new flagship location will allow us to offer a whole new paradigm of hosting to you for many years to come. 

Keeping Things Simple 

We made a lot of quality-of-life improvements this year that made things better for you and increased our efficiency. 

New Customer Control Panel 

The old Control Panel worked, but it didn’t spark joy. The new one, launched at new.contabo.com, fixes that. 

Responsive design that works on phones. Dark mode for late-night server management. Fewer clicks to do basic tasks. Clearer overview of all your instances. Improved Object Storage management. The list goes on. 

Some features are still being added (Dedicated Server management, billing, domains), but what’s there now already makes daily server management noticeably faster and more user-friendly. 

ContaBro: Support That Doesn’t Sleep 

ContaBro, our AI support assistant, went live integrated directly into the Customer Control Panel this year. Its purpose was to provide customers with an immediate answer to your queries with no waiting time. We’re proud to say that around a third of chat queries now get fully resolved without involving human agents. 

Even better: ContaBro never traps you. Can’t get your answer? It immediately transfers you to a human. No arguing, no “please rephrase your question.” The bot works for you, not the other way around. 

We’re aiming to increase the independent resolution rate even more by next year, freeing human agents for the complex issues that actually require human judgment and creative solutions. 

Knowledge Base Expansion 

Our Knowledge Base full of useful self-support resources has grown significantly, with nearly 300 articles available in English and German, and Spanish versions coming soon. We’ve put out more multimedia content too, with video tutorials embedded directly in articles so you can read the steps, watch the walkthrough, or do both. 

The Knowledge Base serves around 15,000 users finding roughly 40,000 answers monthly. It’s just one of the multiple ways you can find quick support when you need it. 

ITIL Frameworks: Structure That Creates Speed 

We implemented ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) frameworks across operations this year, with the goal of turning reactive firefighting into proactive problem prevention. The results showed up in metrics that matter: reduced ticket resolution times, better SLA performance, fewer repeat incidents, and improved escalation processes. 

Structure doesn’t slow things down when it makes it easier to figure out what to do next. Teams now know who handles what, when, and how success gets measured. That clarity creates confidence in how we solve problems for you. 

Leadership and People 

Behind the infrastructure and products, people make everything work. We welcomed 81 new people to the Contabo team in 2025, including our new CEO, Stephan Wolfram. His sharp focus is on developing our products to serve you better, sharpening user-friendliness, and deepening customer engagement. 

Growing a team while maintaining a strong culture isn’t always easy. The expansion of our team represents deliberate investment in finding people who fit our “Always Improving” mindset and offer something valuable to you, our customers. 

Black Friday: Building Trust One Deal at a Time 

Out of around 30 promotions we ran during 2025, Black Friday was of course the highlight. This big weekend welcomed many new customers to the Contabo Cloud. Many former customers whose projects had come to an end returned to us with new projects in need of affordable hosting they can trust. Long-term contracts also increased, proving that this trust is strong enough for customers like you to commit to running their projects on Contabo infrastructure. 

2025 By the Numbers 

In total, around 150,000 new customers joined Contabo this year. Each one represents a project someone decided to build on our infrastructure, a team that chose our honest hosting promise, a business betting on our reliability. We’re proud and grateful that you all chose Contabo. 

You deployed 500,000 VPS instances with us this year. That’s half a million reasons that value-focused hosting still wins. VDS and Dedicated Servers also saw around 10,000 new instances each in 2025. 

These numbers matter not because they’re big, but because they represent real people running important projects. Websites serving millions of visitors. Databases handling critical transactions. Development environments building tomorrow’s applications. Game servers connecting global communities. The possibilities are endless. 

What’s Next 

2025 set the foundation. 2026 builds on it. 

Hub Europe Buildings 2 and 3 are scheduled to come online next year, significantly expanding our European capacity. ContaBro will get smarter, handling more complex scenarios independently. The new Customer Control Panel will get Dedicated Server management, billing, and domain controls. Additional language support is also coming across all customer touchpoints. 

Product development continues with the same focus: delivering more value without inflating prices. More Add-Ons will become available to turn your servers into powerful production-ready tools. Infrastructure investments target reliability and performance, not flashy features that don’t solve real problems.
