For Plesk you can activate Softaculous only on a Linux operating system. The free version gives you access to more than 50 scripts whereas the fee-based, fully-licensed version offers around 450 scripts. An overview of the supported scripts can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.softaculous.com\/softaculous\/apps\" rel=\"nofollow\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Procedure under Plesk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For Plesk 12.0+ versions<\/p>\n<p>The installation of Softaculous under Plesk can be performed by just a few clicks. Please login to your Plesk Control panel with your <em>root<\/em> user. Afterwards go to the &#8220;Server Management -&gt; Extensions&#8221; page and click on the &#8220;Extensions Catalog&#8221; tab. Once done you can search for Softaculous and click on the &#8220;Install&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have finished the installation of Softaculous you can find it under the &#8220;My Extensions&#8221; tab.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/PLESK_EN-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5302\" src=\"https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/PLESK_EN-1-300x113.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/PLESK_EN-1-300x113.jpg 300w, https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/PLESK_EN-1-1024x386.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/PLESK_EN-1-768x289.jpg 768w, https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/PLESK_EN-1-1536x578.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/PLESK_EN-1.jpg 1540w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please take note that the free version of Softaculous is installed per default. In case that you need the full license for Softaculous, you can order it directly in the &#8220;My Extensions&#8221; tab next to Softaculous under the &#8220;Buy&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<p>For older versions of Plesk please use the following procedure for the installation of Softaculous:<\/p>\n<p>1. ionCube loader activation<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re not sure about your admin rights, always enter the command sudo -i at the beginning of every session:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo -i<\/pre>\n<p>This command will grant you the rights of a power user, so you don\u2019t have to write the command sudo at the beginning of every command line.<br \/>\nBefore you start with the activation of the ionCube loader, you have to check if this one is not already installed and enabled on your server.<br \/>\nTo check the ionCube version please connect to your server via SSH as <em>root<\/em> and use the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>find \/ -name 'ioncube_loader_*'\n\n<\/pre>\n<p>To check if the ionCube loader is activated you can use the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>php -m | grep -i ioncube\n\n<\/pre>\n<p>2. Installation of Softaculous<\/p>\n<p>When the ionCube loader is activated you can continue with the installation of Softaculous. Therefore please take care that you have enabled POSIX. You can check this by executing the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>php -m | grep -i posix\n\n<\/pre>\n<p>In case that POSIX is not enabled, you can enable it in \u201eTools &amp; Settings\u201c \u2192 \u201ePHP Settings\u201c \u2192 Please select the related PHP handler and continue with the next steps. Once you have taken care that POSIX is enabled, please connect to your server via SSH as <em>root<\/em> and execute the following commands:<\/p>\n<pre>wget -N http:\/\/files.softaculous.com\/install.sh\nchmod 755 install.sh\n.\/install.sh\n\n<\/pre>\n<p>Once the commands are executed the installer will start with the installation process of Softacoulous. During the installation scripts will be downloaded and the download activity will be shown on the screen. Afterwards you can select Softaculous in your Plesk administration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Procedure under cPanel\/WHM:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. ionCube loader activation<\/p>\n<p>To activate the ionCube loader on your cPanel administration please follow the steps below:<br \/>\n* Login to WHM (<em>root<\/em>)<br \/>\n* Got to Server Configuration \u2192 Tweak Settings \u2192 PHP<br \/>\n* Select \u201eioncube\u201c check box for \u201ecPanel PHP loader\u201c<br \/>\n* Click on \u201eSave\u201c button.<br \/>\n* That&#8217;s it.
