Whether you&#8217;re managing Windows Server 2016, 2019, or the latest 2022 edition, the ability to change the display language can enhance user accessibility and overall productivity.&nbsp;In this article, we will guide you through the process of changing the display language on Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-changing-the-display-language-on-windows-server-2016\">Changing the Display Language on Windows Server 2016<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting with an older, but still used, version of Windows Server: Windows Server 2016.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-login-via-rdp\">Login via RDP<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To change the display language of your Windows Server you need to login via RDP to it first. On your local PC, search for \u201cRemote Desktop Connection\u201d, open it, enter your IP address together with your credentials and click on \u201cConnect\u201d. For demonstration purposes, I will install \u201cGerman\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1125\" height=\"636\" src=\"https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-32.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17762\" srcset=\"https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-32.png 1125w, https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-32-600x339.png 600w, https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-32-768x434.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1125px) 100vw, 1125px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In this specific case it says \u201cOpen\u201d rather than \u201cAdd\u201d because an additional menu will open up once you clicked on \u201cOpen\u201d where you can select a specific version of the language you are trying to install:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/contabo.com\/dd7323ed-bfa3-47ab-9f97-b3798e756e9b\">I will <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select \u201dGerman (Germany)\u201d followed by clicking on \u201dAdd\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will now see that the German language will appear in the list of currently available languages:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1121\" height=\"631\" src=\"https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-37.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-37.png 1121w, https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-37-600x338.png 600w, https:\/\/contabo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-37-768x432.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1121px) 100vw, 1121px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The language at the top is always the primary one. If you want to set German as the primary language, use the \u201cMove up\u201d button. You can reverse this change later by selecting German again followed by clicking on \u201cMove down\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see, currently German is just available as the keyboard layout, not as the Windows display language. To open the settings, you can either press the [Windows]-key and search for \u201cSettings\u201d followed by pressing [Enter] or you can press [Windows] + [I] at the same time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now select \u201cTime &amp;
