It is possible to install your own Linux Operating System (OS) by mounting your own .iso file. <\/strong><\/p>\n

How you do this depends on whether you’re doing this for an existing VPS or a new one. Below are instructions on how to do this for both new and existing VPSs.<\/p>\n

How can I install my own Linux OS on an existing VPS?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

You will need to provide customer support with a URL that points to the desired ISO image.<\/p>\n

You can raise a ticket with the customer support team via the <\/a><\/a><\/a><\/u>Customer Control Panel here<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mounting an .iso file costs €27.50 \/ $33.00 \/ £28.60 plus VAT (where applicable) per 15 minutes of work.<\/p>\n

Please note that the installation of Windows on a of Contabo VPS requires a Windows licenses provided by Contabo.<\/strong> The use of your own Windows license is only possible on Contabo Dedicated Servers.<\/p>\n

How can I install my own Linux OS on a new VPS?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Place your order on the Contabo website here<\/u><\/a><\/u> and click on the “Customize and order” button located below the VPS model you are interested in.<\/p>\n

You will be redirected to the specific configuration menu. You will have to select one of the free Linux operating systems to continue (it does not matter which Linux distribution you choose).<\/p>\n

In order to get your mounted ISO image, it is necessary to leave a note during the order process informing the installation team that you want to install your own operating system. You can write the note in the “Information” text boxes that appear in step two of the order process, below the fields for your personal information. Your note must also include a URL pointing to the desired ISO image.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
