What is a Snapshot?
<\/strong><\/h4>\n

If you have a High-Performance VPS series, you have the option to take a snapshot of your Cloud VPS. This feature is only available for Cloud VPS.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Snapshot feature is not a backup, instead a snapshot saves and stores the current state of your system.<\/strong> This is a useful tool that allows you to update applications or install new software on your system without risk. If you encounter problems after installing an update, you can easily “roll back” your system to its previous state.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

You can perform a Snapshot yourself by using the Customer Control Panel<\/u><\/a><\/u>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

How do I create a Snapshot?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

  1. Log in to the Customer Control Panel<\/u><\/a><\/u>.<\/li>\n
  2. Click “VPS control” from the blue “control panel” section on the left hand side of the page.<\/li>\n
  3. Click the snapshot button on the far right hand side of the row for the VPS for which you want to take a snapshot.\n

  4. Click the “Create Snapshot” button.<\/li>\n
  5. Type in a name for the snapshot and click the “Create Snapshot” button.<\/li>\n
  6. You should see a message that says “The snapshot has been created”.<\/li>\n
  7. Under the snapshots button you should now see your newly created snapshot.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Snapshots are not kept indefinitely. <\/strong>After 30 days, the snapshots will be deleted. The exact auto-delete date can be found in the customer control panel.<\/p>\n

    Also, depending on your VPS plan, there is a limit to the number of snapshots you can store.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Taking a snapshot does not use any disk space. <\/strong>The space for the snapshot is not deducted from the disk space of your VPS, but is stored in additional space.

    Snapshots cannot be downloaded.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
