How do I share Object Storage with selected users?
It is possible to give access to buckets, files and folders to selected users rather than to the public.
To create and add a new user to your User Management list, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Customer Control Panel.
- Click “Object Storage” from the blue “control panel” on the left hand side of the page.
- Click the “Go to Object Storage Panel” and you will be taken to a new page.
- Select ‘Create User’. The following menu appears:
- Fill out the “Email Address” field.
- Fill out the “First Name” field.
- Fill out the “Last Name” field.
- Select a language from the “Language” dropdown.
- Choose a role for the user. Under each role you should see a description of the role which will let you know how much access each role gives the user.
- Optionally, you can select whether the user is required to setup 2FA to access the shared buckets, files and folders with the “Force User To Setup 2FA” checkbox.
- Check the “Enabled” checkbox to enable the users access.
- Click the “Create” button.
Once you’re done the user should receive an email with an invitation.
How do I revoke a users access to Storage?
- Log in to the Customer Control Panel.
- Click “Object Storage” from the blue “control panel” on the left hand side of the page.
- Click the “Go to Object Storage Panel” and you will be taken to a new page.
- Open the “User Management” tab.
- Click the three dots in the “More” column.
- Select “Edit User”.
- Uncheck the “Enabled” checkbox.
- Click the “Confirm” button and the user should no longer have access to the Object Storage.
